Overview

The Directorate of Technical Services is responsible for the technical operations of the National Communications Authority (NCA), including the planning, management, and oversight of telecommunications networks and infrastructure. It ensures that technical standards are maintained, and that communication systems are secure, efficient, and reliable. The directorate oversees network performance, conducts technical evaluations, and works closely with service providers to resolve network issues. It also manages spectrum allocation, ensuring optimal and interference-free use of radio frequencies. The directorate is tasked with approving and certifying telecommunications equipment to prevent the use of non-compliant devices. Additionally, it enforces quality of service (QoS) standards, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement in service delivery. The team includes engineers and technical specialists who guide infrastructure development, assess new technologies, and support the national goal of expanding digital connectivity.
