Eng. Chol Joseph Mayen Dut serves as the Director of Research and Planning at the National Communication Authority (NCA), where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the nation's telecommunications landscape. In this capacity, he acts as a key advisor to the Director General on crucial research and planning initiatives and oversees the dedicated Research and Planning Directorate Team.
His tenure at the NCA has been marked by significant achievements, including the successful establishment of a Data Centre and Internet Exchange Point (IXP), a Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), and a Network Operations Centre (NOC). Furthermore, he has been instrumental in the effective operation of the Revenue Assurance system, contributing to the financial health and stability of the sector.
Before joining the NCA, Eng. Chol was the Senior Network Operations Manager at MTN South Sudan. During his time there, he played a crucial role in the post-independence separation of the MTN Network into two distinct entities, ensuring the sovereignty of network elements and customer information for the newly formed Republic of South Sudan.
A highly accomplished professional, Eng. Chol is a certified Telecommunication Engineer by all vendors and brings over 20 years of experience to his current role, spanning both the public and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from Juba University and a Degree in Business Administration from Omdurman-Ahlia University in Sudan.
