Eng. Thomas Gatkuoth Nyak is the Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services in the Republic of South Sudan and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Communication Authority (NCA).

In his capacity, he plays a key role in shaping national ICT policies, strengthening regulatory frameworks, and guiding the digital transformation agenda of the country. He has been instrumental in advancing strategic projects such as the national fiber-optic implementation program, which aims to expand broadband access and improve connectivity across South Sudan.

Eng. Gatkuoth has also highlighted the importance of stable energy supply as a foundation for digital infrastructure, advocating for integrated approaches that address both electricity and ICT expansion. Through his participation in regional and international forums, he actively promotes partnerships to attract investment, embrace emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and space science, and align South Sudan with global digital development trends. His leadership within both the Ministry and the NCA reflects a strong commitment to building a secure, inclusive, and innovative communications sector that supports national growth and development.
